It has been an incredible week for women and for India as a whole. PV Sindhu became the first Indian to clinch the Gold medal at the Badminton World Foundation (BWF) World Championship by defeating the former no 1. Nozomi Okuhara.
Her dedication and devotion were very much evident throughout the 38 min heart-gripping match. We are all so proud of her. She has made herself a symbol of hard work, dedication, determination, and success by creating history at the championship.
Again, the joy was doubled when the Sports Ministry recommended the six-time World Boxing champion Mary Kom’s name for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award, making it the first time that a woman athlete’s name has been put forward by the Sports Ministry for the country’s second-highest civilian honor after the Bharat Ratna. However, PV Sindhu was recommended for the Padma Bhushan (the country’s third-highest civilian award).
Moreover, our girls back at Rajnandgaon along with their coach Mr. Rajeshver Rao also made us really proud. They once again emerged victorious at the Junior State Basketball Championship (this being the 15th consecutive year of their victory).
After this, what else can you say except “YOU GO – GIRL”
